Plessy V. Fergusen
A Letter from the Editor
This matter of the clear gap in quality between black and white schools is a disgrace to the American way of life. As a land of the free we should work towards building a nation of strong, educated, and cultured citizens. By denying black schools the same quality education of whites we have doomed a large portion of our population to remain in poverty. Although it has been generally accepted that white men hold jobs of higher pay and responsibility, we must at least provide the same opportunities to all people of color. Doing so would not only provide an economic boon to the nation but also allow for more rural areas to provide more quality citizens for this nation. This country is a land of the opportunity no matter one's own culture. Therefore, we must not allow for such a large portion of this country to continue to suffer educational disparity that shall inevitably handicap their capabilities to build a better future for themselves and their descendants.
I hereby declare my support for the separate but equal doctrine that has been made a law by the Supreme Court if the case of Plessy v. Ferguson. This paper shall not discriminate or forge false press against blacks or the school systems that continue to carry out this plan.
