Today I am going to talk to you about the tribe named Southern Paiute. They lived the United States, Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Utah. The next thing I am going to talk about is their home. Today Southern Paiute communities are located in Las Vegas Pahrump and Moapa. Then I am going to talk to you about their clothing. Their clothing and dress are made out of rabbit. The next thing I am going to talk about is what they eat and their diet food. They ate seeds and berries and their diet were grass seeds and roots. Their customs was to perform the ghost dance. Wovoka was also told the new world would only come if his people practiced a certain dance. It became known as the Ghost Dance . The weapons they used were self bow and the Paiute bows. They were similar. They loved to draw rock art and you can find it in Red Rock Canyon. The Southern Paiute traditionally lived in the Colorado River Basin and the Mojave Desert in the Northern Arizona and the South Eastern California including Owens Valley.
