Sheep products and by-products
How much do you know?
Sheep products go way beyond what the average person thinks which is wool and meat. Every part of the sheep can be used in some form or fashion. Sheep by-products can be sold at low prices making prices of the entire item lower. Using the entire animal is more efficient and profitable plus it reduces waste. Without the sheep we would not have common everyday products like film, tape, ice cream, shampoo, and conditioner.
Fluff
Wool is used to make winter clothing, blankets, boots, saddles, insulation, stuffed animals, yarn, baseballs, lanolin, rug pads, crayons, etc.
Body Parts
People can eat any part of the sheep but the most common are mutton, from an older sheep, and lamb, from baby sheep. Less common would be pot roasts, lamb chops, round steaks, and rack of lamb
Horns, hooves, and bones
Piano keys, Marshmellows, Buttons, Toothbrushes, etc.
Intestines
Casings on hot dogs and sausage, Instrument strings, Sutures, and Tennis racquet strings.

Nitrogen Fertilizer, Potash, Phosphorus, and Minor Minerals
Fats and Fatty acids
Explosives, Solvents, Paints, and Chewing gum.
Importance
Living without sheep or any other animal at that matter would be nearly impossible. They are so very important to our economy and so many lives that depend on them. For some people their lives evolve around the sheep and they literally could not survive without them.
