Join your fellow athletes for a dodgeball tournament against PV Friday at 5:30 in front of the small gym! Teams of five are needed. $3 per person to play, or $10 per team. See Mr. Allen or Mr. Rollins for more info!

Spring Choral Concert is on Monday, May 9th, 7:00 p.m., at the Center for the Arts. Tickets to this event are $7.00. The concert features A Capella Choir, Mixed Chorus, Voce, Sac Street Boys, Chico Chic and Harmonium.


Jim Grauel with NRP (National Recognition Products) will be in Chico one last time--Thursday, June 2nd at Graduation Practice. Extra caps, gowns and tassels will be available for purchase (CASH ONLY!).

Congrats to Diana Valdez, who won the Youth Nexus Member of the year, A-team Member of the Year & the Senior Star at the Butte Behavioral Health Prevention Unit Awards Night! Great job!


We are looking for officers for next school year. ALL positions are open except Secretary. We are in need of President (Patty Willis is interested) VP of Membership, VP of Programs, Treasurer, Auditor, Parliamentarian (Andrea Dempsey is interested), and Historian (Melissa Dempsey is interested). At the Biliteracy Ceremony at the Center for Performing Arts, over 50 CHS students earned the State Seal Biliteracy Award. In order to achieve the award, they have to have completed four years of a World Language, maintain a strong grade in English and take the SBAC test with a three or higher among other qualifications. Great job, ‪#‎Panthers‬!

Bird House Build Permission Slips are due by Tuesday, May 17th. Please return your completed and signed form to Cathy Porter in the Front Office.


Sober Grad Night tickets are available for purchase during lunch on Fridays in the Commons area. Ticket cost is $25 through May 26th and increases to $35 on May 27th. Tickets (along with the required permission slips) will be available for purchase on the following Fridays: May 13th and 27th. They will also be sold at the Senior Luncheon, Scholarship Night, Birdhouse Build/Auction and the Baccalaureate. Don’t miss out on this fun night with your fellow graduates!

JV FOOTBALL 2016-2017

Anyone interested in playing JV football next year, there is a meeting on Tuesday, May 10th, at 11:15 (1st lunch) in Room D-3.


Grad night takes place right after graduation on June 2nd from 9:30pm - 5:00am. We start working on in September, and it takes many parents all of these months to make this very memorable event possible!!

Butte College will be hosting the Summer Connection from June 13th – 30th this year!

Summer connection is a program that has been in place at Butte College for nearly 30 years and is designed to give students from Butte and Glenn Counties currently in grades 7-9 exposure to learning and fun in a college setting. The students are enrolled in various courses (KIN 51, Science, Drafting, Multicultural studies and more) and will participate in activities to help them believe they could attend higher education.

Students will receive .5 unit for KIN 51. The program fee is $36 per student. The schedule is Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. – 2:40 p.m.; transportation to the Main Campus, a breakfast snack and lunch are provided each at no additional cost.

The LAST DAY for Birthday Grams will be Friday, May 27th. Surprise your friends with a Singing Birthday Gram – Only $5.00 – Sung by Chico Chic or Sac Street Boys. Purchase in D2 before school, after school or both lunches. Performed 3rd period.


If you are a Junior or Senior who plans on taking a class at CSU Chico next semester, you must do the following:

· Attend a mandatory HSS Orientation session to receive an HSS application and other important documents.

· Be enrolled in the 11th or 12th grade of a local admission area 2 high school (Academic Year 2016-17).

· Possess at least a 3.0, non-weighted, academic high school GPA (both 9-12 and 10-12).

Mandatory HSS Orientations will be held on the Chico State campus from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on the following dates (choose one):

· Monday, May 9th or

· Tuesday, May 17th

You will not be allowed to walk at graduation if you have ANY Saturday Schools!

Chico Unified School District High School Sports Physicals

Only $5.00 for the 2016-17 School Year

The CUSD has established the $5.00 sports physical nights in conjunction with the Butte-Glenn Medical Society. On Thursday, May 12th, 2016, Chico High will have physicals starting at 6:30pm.

The doctors of the Butte-Glenn Medical Society are generously donating their time to complete sports physicals for all CUSD athletes; incoming 9th graders through 12th grade for 2016-17.

A $5 donation is requested and appreciated by the schools, with all proceeds going to help fund athletics at the high schools. Having a yearly physical is a state requirement for participation in school athletics.

Student-Athletes must bring with them a completed Physical Form and Code of Conduct packet.

These packets will be available in May on the Chico High ( website under the athletics tab.

All personal information, insurance and signatures must becompleted & signed by a parent/guardian & the student prior to having the physical section filled out by the doctor.

Two great way to help raise money for Sober Grad Night are our biggest fundraisers of the year, the Birdhouse and More Auction. It takes place on the CHS campus in Lincoln Center beginning at 5:30pm. There will be both Silent and Live auction items up for grabs! This event will take place on FRIDAY MAY 20th! Also on that night beginning at 7:00pm in the gym that is attached to Lincoln Center there will be a Gramps Vs. Champs basketball game! This game will involve our senior basketball player (Champs) Vs. our staff (Gramps). During half time we will be doing our Live auction for the Birdhouse and More.

Re: New immunization requirements for 2016

Under a new law known as SB 277, beginning January 1, 2016 exemptions based on personal beliefs will no longer be an option for the vaccines that are currently required for entry into child care or school in California. Most families will not be affected by the new law because their children have received all required vaccinations. Personal beliefs exemptions on file for a child already attending child care or school will remain valid until the child reaches the next immunization checkpoint at kindergarten (including transitional kindergarten) or 7th grade.

The Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) is looking for you! Be part of a fun 5-person team performing outdoor conservation work at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge complex. These are full-time summer positions working 40 hours per week at $10/hour. Employment will last 8 weeks, from June 13th through August 5th.
