National Bullying Prevention Month
Take a Stand Against Bullying
Hello Rippon Families
Bullying impacts students in ways that we don't always see. There are long term effects and we certainly want to do our best at Rippon to protect and keep our students safe.
No Place for Hate is our in-house program that is part of our anti-bullying efforts. It takes a community of educators and our individual families to help us create safe schools. The responsibility is on all of our families to make sure that they are guiding our students to better decision making, which starts at home.
Rippon believes that having a school community where your child feels safe and respected is an important foundation to their academic success. That is why Rippon will be participating in No Place for Hate®, a national program supporting schools in their commitment to celebrating diversity, promoting respect for differences and challenging bias and bullying at all levels.
Developed by the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) – a leading civil rights organization that has worked for over a century to “secure justice and fair treatment to all” – No Place for Hate® will help us incorporate new anti-bias and bullying prevention resources into our existing programs in order to have one consistent message of inclusivity.
Rippon is now in our Year 3 of the program. I am looking forward to seeing the work that our students will be putting together this school year.
Special Note to the Teachers: Although we are sending this newsletter home, please open it up for your class and be sure to share the link so the students can see the pledge as we do them on the announcements and can sign the Signature sheet online.
