Dear parents and friends of our school Kia Ora/Bora Da/Konichi Wa/Hello
Tena Koutou Katoa
At Toko School we have been, and are, dedicated to developing student agency. The focus of agency is to develop life-long learning behaviours. These contribute to the children becoming agentic and driven learners throughout their life. Every child is on a different path and teachers are guiding children to work through independent learning behaviour goals most suited to them. These learning behaviours relate to different stages of the journey, starting from bronze through to platinum. These goals are fluid (move backwards and forwards, up and down) and are not age based. Children's learning behaviours may differ depending on the context, task, environment, etc.
Each newsletter we will be sharing the learning behaviours associated with the different stages.
