Dear Lakeview Families,
Thank you for taking the time to speak with your teachers this week during our CHAT night. Thank you PTA for organizing the hotdogs and food provided to our families and teachers. If you happen to stop by SONIC in Little Axe, please thank them for donating the hotdogs to our Lakeview event. In this newsletter I have linked our Lakeview Team's Curriculum Videos. If you have questions after you view the video, please contact your child's teacher or me. I've also included the district Slide presentation that may go into more depth if you want to open it and review the links.
We will be having special WOWzah Wednesdays happening throughout the year and our first one is scheduled for this Wednesday. Special enrichment and hands on activities are planned for these days that will happen school wide throughout the day.
Please consider signing up for volunteering or for WATCH D.O.G.S. to help us whenever you can fit it in your schedule. Here is the NPS Volunteer Website link where you can sign up as a Lakeview volunteer.
If you have any suggestions, questions or concerns, please contact the school at 405-366-5899 or email me at paulap@normanps.org. Much appreciation for all you do to help our students continue to be safe.
Best Regards,
Paula Palermo

All About our Curriculum!
Lakeview teachers have worked hard to prepare information to help explain their curriculum and classroom procedures. We found that this worked well last year to share with all families. I have provided the links below for easy access. Please be sure to review whichever links pertain to your child(ren). If you have difficulty accessing the information, please reach out to me or your child's teacher.

As a reminder, OSDE has created PK-6 Family Guides as a resource aligned to the Oklahoma Academic Standards and developed to complement classroom learning. They provide a brief overview of students’ learning in that grade, as well as end-of-year expectations and suggested activities for students and families to do at home. The family guides include the subject areas of English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, music, visual art, and physical education and health. These are available in English and Spanish.

Important Message
September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month (SPAM)! This is a time to raise awareness of this stigmatized topic. September is used to shift public perception, spread hope and share vital information to people affected by suicide. The goal is to ensure that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help.
Find more information about how NPS addresses suicide prevention here and find more information about SPAM here. #BeThe1To
