McDonald's Night
You did it again Maple Ridge. Your hard work earned $696.56 from sales. I had a parent, that decided not to stay because the line was too long, donate 25 dollars. Our grand total was $721.56. That is amazing!
My favorite part of the night is to see the children react to seeing you outside of school. Even though you had seen them just a few hours before, they respond to you like they are seeing a long lost friend. Thanks for your hard work and caring.
General information
- We are up to 50 families for HHH. That is an increase from last year. Thanks, Kirsten for all your work getting this massive undertaking rolling.
- If you have any kind of leave day coming up, please check in Willsub at least 48 hours in advance to make sure everything is covered.
- Don't forget step two of your SLO is due ten days prior to the assessment you are using for measurement purposes
- On 12-14 we have the Pendletones coming out to sing Christmas songs to all of us. They will be in the gym from 10:00 to 10:30.
- Please remember to be in your seats and ready to learn at 7:00 in the cafeteria at PHMS Wednesday morning. Selfishly, I also don't want the look of astonishment the principal with the late staff member gets from the other principals if one of their staff members walks in late.
- Only 37 days until our sunlight time starts to increase.
Hot Water and Water Pressure
While our hot water heater is currently down, please know that ASC and maintenance are working to get the entire unit replaced as soon as possible. The plumbing company will be out on Monday and it should be done by Monday the 26th.
All health regulations in our cafeteria are being met. Thanks to Mrs. Hill and Mrs.Jessup for finding solutions to work around this temporary problem.
Our cold water pressure has not fluctuated. It is still at full pressurization. All toilets, and urinals are flushing properly. Our sprinkler system is full charged and ready to respond perfectly to any fire.
Tech Tips
- If you want to open a new Google doc, all you have to do is type docs.new.in the address bar. The same goes for other products in the Google Suite.
- Your sound bar goes off whenever there is a power interruption. We seem to be having them frequently so that might be why it isn't working at times. You must also hold the remote in close proximity to the sound bar for the remote to work.
- If you receive a notification that a tech. ticket has closed and you feel the problem has not been fixed, you may reply to that ticket and let the tech. department know it is not resolved to your satisfaction.
Weather Station
Our Weatherbug station is on a Windows machine. Right now it is turned off until our tech. department can replace that desktop since it is too old to accept Windows 10. Right now my Weatherbug app. is defaulting to Indianapolis Regional Airport/Mt. Comfort. The airport is about 10 miles away as the crow flies. The terrain is also wide open and flat like ours. We will use that as our reference point until our station is back and running. Please make sure you are supportive of the certified staff member that makes the call whether it is inside our outside recess. Personally I like to see the children get outside as much as possible, but we must follow our guidelines for student safety.
Valerie's Vision
Power of Writing
Recently, some of my former Noblesville cohorts shared with me a narrative written by a student at Noblesville West Middle School, documenting her experience on May 25, 2018.
Please note, this narrative may evoke emotions, since it is from the perspective of a student in Mr. Seaman’s room.
This student is starting to use writing as a form of expressing their emotions and healing. Don’t forget how powerful writing can be, and understanding the variety of purposes why one may write. I’m pretty sure this child’s teacher wasn’t worried one bit about the length, any grammatical errors or any run on sentences.
