THANK YOU, PARENTS!

To the many parents who brought students to the dance and who monitored this activity with Community Club members, WE THANK YOU! Your giving and helpful spirit helped to make this popular event a success! The Hillside students who attended (and there were many) had a wonderful night of dancing and laughing (and dropping popcorn on the floor).

Hillside parents are THE BEST!

PBiS Skill of the Week for April 25-29

Hillside, like all schools in Westside Community Schools, operates with a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support practice. This means we focus on recognizing when students are demonstrating positive behaviors. Of course, we work to help students correct behaviors that are not as positive, and we provide supports for students who need it.

Hillside announces daily the social Skill of the Week. This is the skill we are focusing on as a building for the entire week. For April 25-29, the Skill of the Week is Active Listening. When you listen actively, you:

  1. Look at the person who is talking and remain quiet
  2. Wait until the person is finished talking before you speak
  3. Show that you heard them by nodding your head, saying, "Okay," "That's interesting," etc.
