When You Start a New Job, Pay Attention to These 5 Aspects of Company Culture
*Article published on Harvard Business Review
"When you join an organization, you have a short window of time to adapt to its culture. It’s the old 90-day rule. And we know too many talented individuals who have stumbled in their new company because they failed to read the cultural tea leaves. This happens because most organizations don’t explain the cultural rules to newcomers, and new hires are so focused on the job and the new boss that they overlook the rules’ profound influence. Internships for Graduate Students and Postdocs: Using Internships to Explore Careers and Make Career Decisions
There are many career options open to PhD scientists, however it can be difficult to determine which career is right for you. In a series of talks, Dr. Alexandra Schnoes describes how internships for graduate students and postdocs might be a good way to explore careers and help make an informed career decision. She discusses the benefits of internships and how a graduate student or postdoc might go on one. She covers the basics of finding and applying for internships. She also talks about the process of talking to your advisor about going on an internship, and how to get the most out of your internship experience when you are on it.

International Scientists - Help us make your experience better!!
To all international scientists of New York,
We created this survey for the purpose of collecting information regarding how various NYC research institutions (academia/higher ed/college/university/advanced research settings) are supporting their international scientists in terms of immigration information/support, career development and mental health.
The results will be discussed in a blog that will be publicly available. We hope that this will inform the various institutions regarding the needs of the community of international scientists and also help INet NYC better select events/projects that are in higher need.
Please help us by filling out the survey. All of the data collected will be anonymously.
It will take you less than 10 minutes and you could win one of two $25 amazon gift cards!
If you have any questions you can email us at info@inetnyc.com
Thank you!!!
