End of Year Announcements
Preparing for next year
Dear Parents/Guardians, as we wrap up another school year I just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed teaching your students. I have seen them grow leaps and bounds this year and look forward to further improvements next year. Traditionally, students are rolled up to the next level of orchestra unless otherwise indicated. The longer a student stays in a music class, the more opportunities become available, and the more success they can find on their instrument!
If your student does not wish to pursue orchestra next year, they must request a withdrawal letter from me and bring it back signed and returned by May 8, otherwise they will be enrolled in the next year's orchestra class. This ensures every student is in the right place for next year and no schedule changes are made in August. Receipt of the letter by me opens the doors of communication so I can see why a student does not want to continue and work it out with them and your family if possible. Thanks again for your support all year.

Summer Enrichment
Keep your student playing their instrument over the summer! Private lessons and summer camps are both great ways to keep fingers in shape and get students caught up or move ahead with more individualized instructions. Here is a link to the private lesson page, and here is one to a listing of orchestra summer camps.
Orchestra Field Trip!
Members of the BCMS orchestra are invited to attend a concert of the Gwinnett Symphony, as they perform Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov at the Gwinnett Performing Arts Center on Tuesday evening, May 19. Permission slips must be turned in by May 7, and payment must be made on MyPaymentsPlus.
Only a limited number of tickets were ordered, and students and chaperones will both be accepted on a first come-first serve basis. I have been out of town the last 2 school days for a family wedding, but will let you know via e-mail on Monday if any chaperone spots are still available. I'm looking forward to this musical experience to end our year!
