Tumuaki Kōrero

Kia ora e te whānau,

Welcome back to Te Huruhi for another fantastic year of learning, growth, and discovery! Last week we completed our first full week back at kura after the many disrupted weeks thanks to the weather. It has been great to see all the smiling faces fill our classrooms and the tamariki have made excellent progress with learning the new routines and expectations in their classrooms and with their new peers and teachers.

This year, we have plenty of exciting things planned, trips and special events for everyone to look forward to and get involved with. Whether you're a returning student or new to our school community, we look forward to supporting you and your families in whatever way we can.

Ngā mihi,

Emily Petronelli

Acting Principal

SCHOOL NEWS & INFORMATION

Staffing @ Tehuruhi

Kerry

Many have you have noticed that lately Kerry has been missing from the front of house at Te Huruhi. I am now able to share with you that Kerry has breast cancer and is taking the next 5 months off while she ungoes treatment. Kerry is eager to return to school and we can't wait for her to be back. Emma Yates who started working last year in the office, will be working fulltime until Kerry returns.

BOOK AMNESTY... Library Books / Class Readers

Unfortunately there are still a substantial amount of library books and class Readers that have not been returned. We spend a considerable amount of money each year on books and it is very disheartening when they aren’t returned. If you have ANY school library books or readers at home, please drop them into the office or pop them into our mailbox at the gate entrance.

Hats

During Term 1 it is a school requirement that all tamariki and staff wear a wide brimmed hat while outside. Students without hats will need to remain in the shade and under the covered walkways.

School hats are available for sale from the office at the cost price of $20, however any wide brim or legionnaires hat is acceptable. Please ensure your child's hat is named.
