Principal Corner
We are extremely excited and ready for your students to return. The Learning Management Systems (SeeSaw and GoogleClassroom) are still uploading students into classes. We apologize for the delay in getting you and your child set up for this. You may receive email or text communication until this is set.
A lot of important information is in this newsletter. Please read thoroughly and let us know if you have any questions. We ask that you are patient with us during the first week. ALL of the processes will improve, but it may be slow-going the first week.
Face CoveringsWe will be issuing student face coverings. Please send your child with a face covering on the first day of school. We have some disposable masks if you do not have a face-covering. We hope to get the school-issued face coverings in student hands the first week of school. Nurse Amy suggests that each student has a baggie with extra face coverings in their backpack. If students drop their face covering or it gets wet, they will need to change. | The First Day of School The 1st day of school will look different this year. For safety reasons we are limiting the number of extra people in our building. Parents will not be walking students to their classrooms. Students in Kinder-1st grade will meet their teacher outside the first few days of school. They will practice walking in together. Kindergarten and 1st graders will wear a lanyard to and from school, but it will be put away during the day. The purpose of the lanyard is to identify your child, their teacher, and how they get home from school each day. | Notes from Nurse Amy Nurse Amy is back at BYE! If you have medication, please drop it off at the school between 8:00-11:00 or 1:00-3:00. If your child has accidents, send an extra change of clothes. Please see the chart below from Nurse Amy. It is very important for your child to stay at home when they are sick. They can keep doing schoolwork through their Google Classroom or SeeSaw app. Our goal is to limit extra students in the nurse office due to possible Covid exposures. We will be asking teachers to handle small nurse things (like band-aids) in the classroom this year. |

Countactless Check-out- NEW We are limiting extra people in our building and we have added a new contactless check-out. We will have two parking spots for check-out. Use your camera on your phone to open the QR code and follow the checkout system. In the end, you will be directed to bring your ID to the door and pick up your child. *If you do not have a smart device, please ring the bell at the new front door and we will assist you.* | Drop Off/Pick Up Before and after school procedures will be similar to previous years. The doors will open at 7:25 and students will report straight to their classrooms or to eat breakfast. Car riders can be dropped off at either the front doors or the side doors of the school. We would strongly encourage those that have students in kindergarten and first grade to use the front doors. Please pull ALL the way forward so more students can exit their cars at the same time. Students that are walking/riding bikes should enter through the front doors and not arrive before 7:25.
Please be patient with us as we work through the first few weeks of school. The line will move faster after we get the system down. | Lunch Students can purchase a tray or bring their lunch. We will have one choice in the cafeteria line this year. Kindergarten will be eating in the cafeteria each day. 1st-5th graders will alternate every other week eating in the cafeteria and the classroom. Trays will be delivered to the classroom on days that students eat in the room. Check out the lunch menu here! Free and Reduced Lunch Forms will be coming home from school. The other option is to complete the form online. |

Drop Off/Pick Up
All students will wait in their classroom until their car has arrived in the afternoon. K and 1st grade (and siblings) will report to the front door. 2nd- 5th-grade students will exit from the west side of the building out of the blue/green hallway. Car tags will have names and numbers. The number will be typed in and your child's name will display in their classroom. At that time they will report to the car. It is VERY important you go to the correct location for pick up in the afternoon so your child reports to your car.

Technology Insurance
Registration Gateway---- Very Important
You should have received a letter in the mail asking you to update information on your student. It is very important you complete the update. This update includes any health concerns for our nurse, updated contact info, emergency contacts, and the technology acceptance use policy for your child. You must complete this before an ipad or chromebook can be issued to your child.
If you did not receive the letter please use this link (https://rgupdate.sdale.org/). Log into the returning student tab and NOT the new enrollment tab. You will be asked to verify your child's information. You will need their 9 digit student id for user name and their birthdate as the password (xx/xx/xxxx). This should be repeated for each one of your children that attends Springdale Public Schools.
If your student does not know his/her ID (student email addresses/lunch cards have their ID numbers) please call the office and we can help you.
