Our Vision: Learning and Growing in Christ
Dear Parents and Caregivers

Happy Pentecost everyone! Let’s celebrate the birthday of the Church!
'As the Father sent me, so I am sending you.'
After saying this he breathed on them and said:
'Receive the Holy Spirit....'
Remember that we are beloved sons and daughters of God. Come now and let’s rejoice in God’s unconditional love. Christ commissions each one of us as we hear in Sunday’s Gospel from John 20:19-23
In the Spirit may we work for a deeper understanding and acceptance of one another. May we be active in healing divisions. May all we do and say be influenced by the Spirit. Blessings on your week.
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents
I trust you have all enjoyed the long weekend with an extra day to rest and revitalise yourselves ready for the second half of the term. We are very aware of the viruses and bugs that are circulating and we have seen many in our school and community struggling with ongoing sickness. For this reason we are still encouraging both staff and students to wear masks as we head into the cold and flu season.
Please report all absences to the school office or on the School App as we always follow up if a child is absent and this is very time consuming when we have a large number of students absent.
Nga manaakitanga ki a koutou katoa

Samoan Language Week Thank You
Sincere thanks to our Samoan teachers and students in our school who wholeheartedly shared their culture with our school community last week. We were able to learn some phrases, songs and prayers in Samoan and during breaks there were opportunities to do Siapo Patterns, make Ula, Pale fuiono, seis, create Tatau lima designs as well as House teams practising milimili’s. It was a wonderful week and as always I think the highlight was the Samoan Assembly. This was followed by the beautiful sapasui and rice after which everyone enjoyed a panikeke.
Special thanks to the team of parents who organised and prepared the lunch for our students. It is a mammoth task and is always carried out willingly, without any problems and we truly appreciate all the work you do to give our children these valuable experiences,
I believe we are truly blessed to be able to share in the cultures of our families. It deepens our understanding as well as encouraging our students to be proud of their heritage and ensures their culture is kept alive.
Hall Spring Clean
Sincere thanks to members of the Samoan Community, the hospitality group and the school community who gave up their time on Saturday to give our hall facilities a good deep clean before it reopens this week. We know everyone will enjoy the use of this facility and we ask that all groups ensure it is left clean and tidy.
KidsCan Jackets
We have also noticed a number of our students without suitable coats or jackets to keep them warm and dry and so this week we will be distributing jackets which have been donated by KidsCan Charitable Trust.
Students are to keep these jackets so please make sure you name them clearly so they do not get lost. The jackets that have been given to our school are quite large so we will give them to our Years 3 - 7 students who require them first.
School Jackets - $30.00 each
We also have some smaller size school jackets sizes 5 - 6, 7 - 8 and 9 - 10 for sale in the uniform shop. These have been reduced to $30.00 each if anyone wishes to purchase one of these.
Winter Uniform
Every child should be in the correct winter school uniform which should be worn with pride. All parents and guardians agreed to their child wearing the correct uniform and we are asking that you ensure your child is dressed correctly.
We do not allow jewellery or nail polish and expect all children to obey these rules.
A major area of concern is the incorrect Physical Education uniform. All students from Years 3 - 8 are expected to have a school PE shirt and plain black shorts. These can be purchased from K-Mart, The Warehouse or Postie Plus.
PE Uniforms are not to be worn to or from school as all students are expected to change into their school uniform before they leave at 2.50pm. The only exceptions are the netball or rugby teams that train after school. Thank you for supporting us in this matter and if you have any concerns please contact me.
