We cannot believe the end of the school year is upon us!! It was our pleasure to be your child's teacher this year, and we wish you a safe and happy summer!

Summer Waukesha Public Library Program

Yesterday, Mr.Chris, from the Waukesha Public Library came and spoke with the 5th grade about the summer reading program that is being offered. This is an amazing opportunity that encourages and is dedicated to motivating children to read. A wealth of activities are planned throughout the summer months! All are free! We did send home a brochure, and we hope you will look it over. Your child does need a public library card for the summer reading program. You do need a library card to check out books, but it is easy to get one. Registration officially started June 1st and you can register at the library, online at: www.waukeshapubliclibrary.org and click on the day of the event,

or you may call the reference library at: 262-524-3692.

Country Springs/Ingleside - Wednesday, June 5th

We are celebrating our fabulous end of the year at the Springs Water Park at the Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee. This fun filled day will be from 9:40 am to 3:00 pm. A hot dog lunch (hot dog, chips, and Hi-C) is included.

In addition, concessions are available inside the snack bar if students choose to purchase additional snacks. There will be adequate supervision and certified lifeguards for this activity.

Kids will need to bring their swimsuit and a towel, but...

we have told the kids to wear their swimsuits under their clothes to school, and put their underwear in their backpacks. We also advised kids to pack an empty grocery- type plastic bag to bring back their damp swimsuit and towel.

Fifth Grade Musical - Thursday, June 6th

The dress rehearsal is at 2:30. This performance is open to Grandparents and any family /friends who would like to see our students in the musical.

Then at 6:00 p.m., we will have dinner followed by the musical which will be 7:00ish.

This evening is dedicated to our graduating fifth graders spending time with their parent(s). Students should be in the gym at all times unless they are in the restroom or taking advantage of the photo opportunity in the hallway outside the office.

Also students should wear a full shoe or sandal with a strap around the ankle, no flipflops or slides. If it's warm, shorts and a t-shirt would be fine.

Stuffed Animal Day

Our Principals For A Day decided that they would like to have a stuffed animal day. This will be on Friday, so please allow you child to bring a small stuffed animal, (We were thinking beanie baby size. Remember those?).

Last Day, June 10th

In the morning, fifth graders will need to bring a book for our fifth grade read-in. They can bring in a pillow and/or a blanket, so long as they are able to carry anything from and to school. We also will be doing a neighborhood walk and because kids will be participating in field days during the afternoon, students should wear gym-type shoes.

What Can My Child Work On This Summer?

We often get ask, "What should my child work on during the summer to keep him/her current with this past year's learning?

Our response: Please have your child reading and practicing math facts throughout the summer.

Besides this, have them play with limited screen time and enjoy the summer months.
