Whitcomb Gingerbread
This Thursday, November 17, we’re creating a gingerbread model of the Whitcomb Art Center to celebrate the end of term and the opening of Knox’s newest academic building in January.
Need a study break? Feeling artistic? Enjoy being around sugary things? Take a break and stop by Ferris Lounge between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
We’ll have candy, frosting, and other edible decorations on hand that you can use to put your personal touch on the building. Come by early and stake out a window, a chunk of sawtooth roof, or re-create the reclaimed wood paneling with chocolate bars.
FYI for the camera-shy: Just as we did for the concrete-and-steel version of the Whitcomb Art Center, the Office of Communications will be filming a timelapse video of the entire gingerbread construction process.
Finally, if you have piping bags and icing tips, edible decorations like colored sugar or rainbow jimmies, or even leftover Halloween candy that you’d like to contribute to the cause, e-mail Knox’s visual and edible media coordinator, Brea Cunningham, at brcunningham@knox.edu.
We hope to see you on Thursday!
Relaxation Session with Laura Bush
Where: Spiritual Life Space, the Quads
Feeling stressed about finals? Laura Bush will be leading a calming and relaxing activity that incorporates yoga, stretching, mindfulness, and breathing. Please join us if you are interested in taking a break, unwinding, and focusing on your wellness.
De-stress Par-Tea
Where: 237 W. Knox St (just past the quads)
Stressed about finals like the rest of campus? Come to Q&A House for tea, coloring books, and puzzles and take a quick break from worrying before all finals break loose. We're located just past the quads, across the street from Sig Chi. And good luck with finals!
