In Touch with TG
November 17, 2022
Dear Toll Gate Families,
Tucker will be joining us tomorrow morning for our last day of TASK donations. Volunteers will have a table near the front loop to collect items. We begin baking pies on Monday! : )
Please remember there is no lunch served tomorrow and dismissal begins at 12:45 pm. Students are welcome to pack a larger snack.
Parents are welcome to enter the building at the scheduled time of their conference. You do not need to report to the main office for a visitor badge. Remember, we DO NOT have child care during the conferences and children need to be supervised on the playground after school.
I look forward to seeing everyone for Parent Teacher Conferences.
Take care and stay warm,
Jane-Ellen

TELSAFE | 609-737-4008 Option 2
It is important that when your child is absent from school, you call TELSAFE 609 737-4008 OPTION 2 to report the absence. Mrs. Smith is required to follow-up with a phone call if any child is absent from school without notification.
Email is NOT the best way to inform us of an absence. You should call TELSAFE and leave a message.
TASK Updates
Toll Gate All Hands Committee
We discussed our next school wide event for December and began brainstorming a family event in the spring.
As we determine how best to celebrate our differences and bring awareness to diverse experiences and identities within our larger community, we would love your feedback.
Feel free to complete the survey for this year.
Character Strong | Be Well | Gratitude Week 3
Last Friday, we had an amazing time in our second Gator Group meeting. We all met in the gym for a brief instruction to our Gratitude theme in Character Strong. I then shared about the veterans in my family and how thankful I am for their service.
We made cards for veterans and had time playing a Gratitude Dice Game. It was a important way to strengthen our Toll Gate community while doing something nice for others.
Today during our You Matter Day, classes participated in Gratitude themed activities and games.

As we recognize Native American Heritage Month and continue to practice acts of gratitude, I shared We are Grateful on Wednesday morning.
The Cherokee community is grateful for blessings and challenges that each season brings. This is modern Native American life as told by an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation.
The word otsaliheliga (oh-jah-LEE-hay-lee-gah) is used by members of the Cherokee Nation to express gratitude. Beginning in the fall with the new year and ending in summer, follow a full Cherokee year of celebrations and experiences. Written by a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, this look at one group of Native Americans is appended with a glossary and the complete Cherokee syllabary, originally created by Sequoyah.
