The Points of Pride

New Carpet
As of now, the ground level is almost done. The library was just stripped of the carpet, and some of the kinder classes need baseboards installed. Otherwise, that floor is done.
Downstairs is almost all stripped of carpet, and they are starting to carpet the hallways. Once the hallway is carpeted, they start attacking the classrooms.
Upstairs hallway is stripped of carpet, and that's it as of now.
I can't tell you how excited I am for all of you to see our "new school." We are currently WAY ahead of schedule and I am guessing they will be done by the end of the month.
Google Classroom....
For those of you planners, I have already put in all of our leadership, staff, PD dates, payroll calendar, important links from the curriculum department, etc.
If you didn't get the email link, here is the access code: q1kp2vb
Ready GEN
Additionally, I have already selected dates for teams to get together for a whole day to plan once a semester. Meaning you will get time once a quarter to work on Ready GEN.

Staffing Changes
- Stephanie Bowers accepted a job at Greenfield Junior High. I wrapped up some interviews last week, and am doing reference checks now on a candidate that I am really excited about.
- Asma Bukhari has been here for 14 years, and she accepted a position at Canyon Rim Elementary.
- Heather Penner is taking over for Darlene Shaw in the intermediate COPE room. She absolutely blew away the interview team and we are excited to bring her to the Pride.
- Jenah Hanson is joining the sixth grade team. She comes very highly recommended out of South Dakota. We are excited to bring her skills to the team.
As of now, we have our K/1 COPE position open I have an interview today-fingers crossed), and about 8 para positions open for next year. Please keep your "ears to the ground" as you hear of people looking for a job.
Google Sites....
As you know GPS is launching new school websites at the end of June. They let us know that the new school websites will not have teacher pages. Instead, there is an option to create your own Teacher Google Site that will be linked to from your staff directory entry on your school website. Two TIEs created a step-by-step self-paced online training for those of you that would like to create your own Teacher Google Site -
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1SUYTadPDvmMWgBtgSxUunkHAFJWOj9VZzU2AV_untFw/edit?usp=sharing
- Each slide on the training provides step-by-step information and a short video with clear instructions.
- Please note it is optional to create a Teacher Google Site.
- Many of our teachers already have Google Sites, where they include information for their students, for example, links to Google Classrooms, as well as announcements for parents, etc.
- The last slide on the online training provides a link to a google form so you can submit the URL of your new site. Once we have that our team can ensure your site is linked to from your school's new website.
Outside Paint....
I think it looks a lot more "clean and fresh."
We will eventually get some sort of small mural painted, but it's just mean to ask someone to paint outside in this heat. Maybe during the fall.
