*Johannes Kepler was a sickly myopic child with a brilliant and intermittent double vision.

*in 1577 at age 6 Johannes became interested in astronomy after seeing the 1577 comet.

*johannes abilities as a mathematician led him instead to teach math in Graz, Austria where he was a district mathematician.

## achievements

*in 1602 johannes discarded perfect circles which had been the model of the heavens since the greeks

*completing his masters degree, Kepler was surprised to be recommended for a teaching of mathematics and astronomy at the Lutheran school in Graz.
