*Johannes Kepler was born as a child of protestant parents. His home life was unstable his parents fought financial problems.

*Johannes Kepler was a sickly myopic child with a brilliant and intermittent double vision.

*in 1577 at age 6 Johannes became interested in astronomy after seeing the 1577 comet.

*johannes abilities as a mathematician led him instead to teach math in Graz, Austria where he was a district mathematician.

achievements

*in 1596 he published his first book corroborating Copernicus and looking for a relation between planetary bodies

*in 1602 johannes discarded perfect circles which had been the model of the heavens since the greeks

*completing his masters degree, Kepler was surprised to be recommended for a teaching of mathematics and astronomy at the Lutheran school in Graz.

*in 1660 Johannes Kepler moved to Prague, where he became an assistant to Tycho Brahe the imperial mathematician.

*when Tycho Brahe died he became an imperial mathematician and professor of Tycho Brahe's observations.

*johannes kepler was frail, sensitive,devoutley, religious and fascinated by nature

* Kepler was struck with the idea that god had used the five perfect Pythagorean solids, one inside the other to locate the planets in their orbits around the sun.

* in 1956 kepler published mysterilum cosmographicum which controlled those ideas
