Welcome New School Board Members
Congratulations to Mrs. Kara Coates, Mrs. Sue Horn and Mr. Dion Manley, who were elected to the GJPS Board of Education this week. We look forward to them joining the board in January and bringing their unique talents, perspectives and expertise to serve our students, staff and families.
We appreciate the passion and dedication demonstrated by all the candidates during the election season. It was inspiring to see so many people willing to serve our schools. We are grateful to all candidates for conducting their campaigns in thoughtful and respectful ways.

Lincoln Elementary students in Ms. Light's third grade class recently celebrated Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, by making their own rangoli designs. The festival of Diwali signifies the victory of good over evil and is celebrated in Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Malaysia. Rangoli, a sign of welcome, is usually a design created on the floor, made from colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals.
Middle School East
OSU defensive tackle Haskell Garrett visited classrooms and talked to eighth grade students at Middle School East about leadership and building lasting relationships.
Lincoln High School and EFCTS
Two Gahanna Lincoln High School students were recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) at Eastland-Fairfield Career and Technical Schools (EFCTS). Congratulations to Cynthia Louis Charles (Dental Assisting) and Jeremy Cox (HVAC).

BinaxNOW At-Home Rapid Test Kits
We will continue to distribute BinaxNOW At-Home Rapid Test Kits while supplies last. These test kits can be used to detect an active COVID-19 infection.
You may request kits for:
- The number of students you have enrolled in Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools in your household
- Up to 2 parents/guardians per household
- The number of GJPS staff in your household
Kits are available for pick up after completing the Rapid Test Request Form at the GJPS Administration Building, 160 S. Hamilton Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Please ring the bell inside the front door for service.
A confirmation email from GJPS will not be sent.
