From Mr. Lucita

Welcome back!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break spending time with family and friends! We hit the ground running this week as we prepare for our upcoming concert on December 12, continue with establishing and rehearsing our JHS Winter Guard program and last but not least celebrating our region audition success!

This week we have after school band rehearsals as we work to integrate our percussionist into their concert bands. Wind Ensemble will follow their same schedule and rehearse on Monday 4:30-6:00 and Wind Symphony will have rehearsal on Tuesday 4:30-6:00!

Winter Guard will continue with their weekly schedule with rehearsals on Monday and Thursday 5:00-8:00.

Celebration time!!!! The Johnson Jaguar Band has set another high standard as they sent 20 students to the TMEA 5A All-Region Band Auditions last weekend. This is the first time the band has participated in the Region Band process and we had a great showing. Here is how our auditions turned out!

How To Sign Up For Remind 101

Remind 101 is a communication option used by lots of teachers and clubs. Once signed up, you can either get the app and look at your messages in the app or you can receive the messages as a text message (or both).

To sign up for Remind 101 for band notifications:

  1. Send a text message to 81010 (enter this number where you would enter the phone number)
  2. The message will be @jagband19 (type this where you would type your text message)
  3. Hit "send"
  4. If you did this successfully, you will receive a text informing you that you signed up for the band remind messages.

Signing up for Remind for other clubs or classes will be similar. You will always send a text to 81010 but what you type into the text box will be different. For example, for an English class, it might be @smithsenglishclass.
