Principals Message

A reminder that we have a 4-day weekend this weekend. There's no school on Friday or the following Monday.

We're winding down the volleyball season with tournaments and we're gearing up for basketball/dance/cheer seasons. The basketball program will be holding open gyms ahead of official tryouts for anyone wanting to come out and shoot around.

On Wednesday we are hosting the district volleyball championship, we have parent teacher conferences, and we are having our drama club parent meeting. I'm looking for student greeters to assist with foot traffic.

Mathcounts Club/Team Forming

I would like to start a MATHCOUNTS club and competition team at Ballyshannon. The club season will begin in November. We will hold a school competition in January and will form our competition team as a result of the school competition. Students will compete regionally in February. If our students qualify for state, it will be in early spring.

Students who participate in MATHCOUNTS club will meet weekly to work through 4 different types of math problems. We will conduct individual sprints, individual problem solving, team problem solving, and a countdown round that measures speed and accuracy of math problem solving.

If your son or daughter LOVES math, this may be the club for them. Check out the info below if you are interested:

Doors open: 7:00am (students report to gym or cafe)

Breakfast: 7:00-7:30am

Tardy Bell: 7:35am (students must be in their 1st period classroom)

Buses, Walkers, Bike Riders dismiss: 2:35pm

Car Riders dismiss: 2:40pm
