A Message from the Principal's Desk:

Dear Kingsway Community,

I hope that this newsletter finds you and your family in good health and good spirits! This has truly been an experience that none of us could have imagined, but I am proud to see the way the District, students, parents, and our staff have come together for one common purpose. I speak on behalf of the entire KRMS staff when I say that we truly appreciate the support you have given us over the past three weeks. With the amount of communication that you are being asked to attend to from all angles, this brief Principal’s Message hopes to answer a couple questions that still may linger. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the teachers, guidance counselors, team leaders, or the administrative team with any concerns or questions that may arise. We are here to serve and support your child. The greater Kingsway Community will continue to be in our thoughts during this unprecedented time.

Mr. Tonelli

Principal, Kingsway Regional Middle School

Renaissance Program: Some students and parents have begun asking some questions centered around the Renaissance Program. The program will continue, but it will need to be altered in the coming weeks based on the given situation. Mr. Tonelli, Mrs. Virga, and Mrs. Owens will be working together with the high school administration team to make the necessary adjustments to the program particularly concerning the application. The number one component we want to stress to students is to continue to complete their work putting forth maximum effort in their new virtual learning environment. More information will be forthcoming after Spring Break.

Virtual Spirit Week: So far this week, our students have been getting involved in our Virtual Spirit week by posting pictures and videos for the given daily theme. Please continue to encourage your child to post pictures to and to get involved! The last two themes of the week are as follows:

Thursday: Thursday: PJ Day---Take a pic in your favorite PJs

Friday: Peticures---Post a picture or a video with your favorite pet

Yearbook Pics: The yearbook staff needs your help! Because so many of our planned events from March and April have been cancelled, we are now seeking submissions to help students remember this unprecedented time away from school. Please send us a photo of your child in their remote learning atmosphere- reading a book, completing work online, anything to remember this time away from our traditional classrooms. These photos will be used to create a special page of our yearbook! You can send photos directly to Mrs. Gismondi at . Please be sure to mention your child's name, grade, and team when submitting their photo. Thank you for your support.

Field Trips: As mentioned in the letter sent by Dr. Lavender, all upcoming smaller scale field trips (Student Council, Chorus, Renaissance Trip….) have been canceled. No decision has yet been made on the 7th and 8th grade class trips to Camp Ockanickon and The Spirit of Philadelphia respectively.
