Grain Fundraiser to Benefit the Community Garden

· The Gilbert Education Foundation facilitated their third annual grain fundraiser to benefit the VoAg/FFA “Community Garden”. Over 725 bushels of corn & beans have been donated by area farmers, along with $600 in cash donations over the last 3 years. The funds raised go to support the infrastructure for the Community Garden. The community garden, with the help of Gilbert Students, have produced pounds & pounds of produce which is donated to the local food pantry each year. What an amazing experience for the students and for the community! It is a wonderful way for students to give back to their community.

Name Brick Patio

In August 2014 the Foundation launched the name brick patio campaign. What an amazing project it was with bricks being purchased by alumni, parents, friends of the Gilbert Community, etc. The Foundation would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who made this project come to life….Trev Brandenberg, (Eagle Scout), Bryan Bradley (Scout Leader), Lindsay Ellingson, countless Boy Scouts, Nevada Monument, Conley Trucking, Martin-Marietta, Hallett Materials, Bobcat of Ames, and Country Landscapes. Once again thank you to the countless District supporters who purchased a name brick. Without your support, we would not have had the bricks to lay. Also, a big thank you goes out to the donors of the 3 benches: Tom & Teri Burke, Dick & Gene Johnson, Steve & Shirley Risdal, & Lindsay & Pat Ellingson. The benches will provide a resting place for those visiting the patio. Finally, thank you to Melissa Appel and the Gilbert Landscaping Class for making this patio your landscaping project for next spring. We are excited to see your ideas! Please stop by to see the patio!
