Digital Resources and Netiquette
Attitudes and Behaviors in a Digital Learning Environment
The Do's and Don'ts of Netiquette
Netiquette is defined as "the correct or acceptable way of communicating on the Internet". Let's face it. The Internet plays a major part in our daily lives. When engaged in texting, chatting, posting, sending, or distributing emails individuals should be mindful of certain rules to follow. Basically behaving in a respectful manner and being considerate of other's feelings. Treat people the way you want to be treated.
Why Do We Need Netiquette?
It doesn't matter if you are taking online classes or sitting in a brick and mortar classroom; educators are using more online resources to keep up with the modern day technical adept student. Virtual schools, Schoology.com, Edmodo.com, and padlet.com provide students with the opportunity to participate in discussion forums. Students must be taught how to safely and correctly leave their digital footprints in cyberspace.
