The Pennsylvania Department of Health has revised the immunization requirements for students effective the 2017-2018 school year.
As of August 2017, a parent must have all immunizations completed within the first 5 days of school.
If the student is in the middle of a series and it is too soon for the next dose, the parents must provide the school nurse with a plan for immunizations (signed by a health care provider) within the first 5 days. If the student has incomplete immunizations and no medical plan, the student will be excluded from school.
You may check your child’s school immunization record by logging onto the parent portal through the district website at www.cbsd.org or by consulting with your child’s physician.

GOOD NEWS ABOUT CB WEST STUDENTS
April Student of the Month Award Winners
Sophomore Award Winner: Alex King- Congratulations to West’s Sophomore Student of the Month, Alex! Alex is very much a go-getter. He organized a team for the March of Dimes, volunteers at the local Woman’s Place, strives for academic excellence, and is always carrying himself with a smile on his face. One unique story about Alex is that he will never pass up an opportunity to make others happy. As his nominator puts it, “One day I was in town after school and saw him playing basketball with elementary school students, and asked why he was spending his time doing that?” He replied by stating,
“Well, because they asked me to!” Alex, keep sharing your kindness with the CB West community and know that it is not going unnoticed!
Junior Award Winner: Julia Perez- Julia is the junior award winner for many well deserved reasons. Julia is known as the much-needed “helping hand” that is always there to assist other students in need. By managing multiple AP classes and playing varsity softball, Julia never fails to make time for others. Her contagious laugh and huge smile fill the CB West hallways with joy. On behalf of the West Student body, we congratulate Julia for her achievements!
Senior Award Winner: Joseph Manetta: Nobody works harder than Joe Manetta! Joe is a highly accomplished student athlete who demonstrates an exceptional balance between athletics and academics. Being a leader both on and off the track, Joe is never hesitant to lend a helping hand. His commitment to running has made him into a star athlete. But what makes Joe unique is that he never takes any of his accomplishments for granted and he will never pass up an opportunity to help other students at West. Joe, thank you for being a leader for so many.
