Who is Coming Back to School?
If you would like TO CHANGE your student's learning model please fill out THIS FORM to make your request. DO NOT complete the form if you are NOT changing the learning model your student was in this fall.
*Some families have already contacted the front office regarding changes. If you have, you do not need to fill out this form.
Key Features of the NEW Hybrid Model
The SES student school day has been extended from 7:55 AM - 1:26 PM
Students will have their ENTIRE schedule BOTH days they are in-person
Cohort A (Mon/Thurs) and Cohort B (Tues/Fri)
“Cohort C” will now be C-A and C-B (split by alpha and they will “Zoom-In” to ALL classes, following the daily schedule, on their A or B Cohort day)
Classes are 38 minutes, except Advisory which is 25 minutes
What Schedule Will We Follow When We Return to Hybrid?
During Distance Learning our Digital Academy students have been integrated into classrooms with the rest of their Cohort A and B peers. This has allowed classroom communities to grow and we want to maintain these student connections. Therefore, when we return to Hybrid Learning, Digital Academy students will Zoom into each of their classes live, following the same period schedule as their corresponding Hybrid cohort.
- Cohort A includes students with the last names beginning with A-K.
- Cohort B includes students with the last names beginning with L-Z.
- Digital Academy A (Distance Learning) students with last names beginning A-K will join their peers in Cohort A via Zoom.
- Digital Academy B (Distance Learning) students with last names beginning L-Z will join their peers in Cohort B via Zoom.
All students will follow this schedule:
Use the buttons below to access the appropriate schedule template to help your SES student organize their class periods / days for the new Hybrid Learning format.
Wednesdays are for Student Support/Enrichment
Starting this past Wednesday (February 24) students were able to come to school to get help on course work, have enrichment sessions, or participate in certain clubs. This will continue moving forward and students may be invited to come in and/or teachers may reach out to parents to make sure students are taking advantage of this extra help opportunity. However, a student does NOT need to be invited to come in to the building on Wednesdays. Transportation and free breakfast and lunch will be available for every student. Below is the schedule we will be following:
- 9:30 - Buses will arrive at SES
- 9:45-10:10 - Breakfast served in the forum
- 10:10-12:10 - teachers available for in-person help, enrichment, etc. (NOTE: teachers will be working with groups of students during this time. They will not necessarily be available to work on individual student needs)
- 12:10-12:40 - Lunch
- 12:45-1:30 - Study hall in the Forum or optional clubs, etc
- 1:40 - Buses depart
- Students can pick up their buses at their normal stops. You should have received an email last week with the new bus times. There is one pick-up time for Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday and a separate, later time for Wednesdays. Please make sure to reference that email for the later Wednesday pick-up time. There is no need to call the school to let us know you are coming in.
- Student who will be accessing their own transportation may choose to come only to certain parts of the day
- Students will be supervised and are expected to follow this schedule. Attending on Wednesdays should be for academic purposes. Students can ONLY come in to access teachers and academic support or organized clubs.
How will students attend their Home High School Classes?
If the home high school class is being taken at a time of day, or is buffered by a study hall or lunch, that allows the student time to travel without missing too much class time, then the expectation is that the student will attend their Home High School class in-person on their in-person Hybrid day.
However, if the travel timing is too complicated and would result in the student missing too much of one or more of their classes, then they do have the option to attend their home high school class(es) from SES, via Zoom, like the Cohort C students.
If a student feels they need to attend their Home High School class(es) via Zoom they need to meet with Mr. Thompson to discuss their situation and have this choice approved. Students MAY NOT opt into taking their Home High School classes via Zoom without approval from Mr. Thompson.
For your reference, below is a comparison chart of the District High Schools' NEW Hybrid Schedules. If your student is concerned about making everything work, please have them stop by the front office. We are happy to problem-solve together!

What Safety Precautions are in Place?
As always, students and staff who are not feeling well or think they may have been exposed to someone with COVID 19, are asked to stay home and work with our School Nurse, Jenni Greseth, to determine how to best keep everyone safe. If you have questions, please call the front office: (952) 431-8750.
