Jennifer Jo Cobb's NASCAR Journey
Cottey College Revs Up the 2017-18 School Year with NASCAR Driver Jennifer Jo Cobb
Jennifer Jo Cobb is a professional race car driver, NASCAR team owner, public speaker and entrepreneur. She began racing at the grassroots level of NASCAR in Kansas City in 1991. Cobb credits her father, who also raced cars, for providing the inspiration for her to be successful in a male-dominated sport.
Cobb holds records in NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series for the female driver with the most series starts, the highest series finish, and the highest finish by a woman in any of NASCAR’s top series at Daytona International Speedway. She is the only female NASCAR team owner who is also a driver.
Cobb’s presentation will focus on topics related to perseverance, overcoming obstacles and leadership. “We are pleased to host Jennifer at Cottey and to learn more about the experiences and challenges she faced in a male-dominated profession,” said Dr. Jann Weitzel, president of Cottey College.
Cobb will speak in the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts located on campus at 7:30 p.m. Her appearance is made possible through a partnership with Affinity Worldwide, located in Kansas City. Visit www.affinityworldwide.com for more information.
