Dear Dos Rios Families,
November has quickly snuck upon us! The weather is starting to change. Please remember to dress students appropriately, as we do go outside. Along with the weather changing, colds and flus are starting to surface. Please remember to keep your children home if they are not feeling well. If you are unsure of what steps to take, please call our office and we will help you.
At Dos Rios, each grade level has specific goals for academic success and each classroom reflects that rigor. We need your support to maintain high expectations so that your student will grow as much as possible. Remember to regularly check your students' take-home Thursday Folder.
During the month of November, we will be focusing on respect. Students will be learning and practicing ways to respect each other and adults.
November is a time for thanksgiving. We are very proud to share that our Dos Rios Community raised $280 for the Pear Park playground. Thank you for sharing your children with us, we are so thankful for them and our community. There are so many things to be thankful for at this time. Take time this month to remember those things and model for your children a time of reflection and thanksgiving. We are so fortunate!
Best,
Mrs. Cain

Parent Notice
As a parent of a student at Dos Rios, you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teacher who instructs your child. This is a requirement for all districts that receive Title 1 funds. Federal law allows you to request certain information about your student’s classroom teacher. The law also requires the district to give you this information in a timely manner upon request. Listed below is the information about which you have the right to ask for regarding each of your student’s classroom teachers.
Whether the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) has licensed or endorsed your student’s teacher for the grades and subjects taught.
Whether CDE has decided that your student’s teacher can teach in a classroom without being licensed or qualified under state regulations because of special circumstances.
The teacher’s college major, whether the teacher has any advanced degrees, and, if so, the subject of the degrees.
Whether any teachers’ aides or similar para-educators provide services to your child and, if they do, their qualifications.
Please contact Mrs. Cain at 254-7910 if you would like to receive any of this information.
