Hello Northwood Elementary families-

I hope you are as excited as I am that warmer weather is on its way. The month of March not only marks the beginning of spring, but also St. Patrick’s Day, the Q3 Sham-rock dance party and the start of state testing for students in grades three and four.

Our goal at Northwood Elementary is to create and maintain a positive school culture because we know this is what is best for students’ social emotional development and their academic progress. We are continuing to implement the PBIS (Positive Behavioral intervention Supports) framework. This framework reflects an approach that focuses on prevention and values of positive behavior supports. PBIS includes school-wide expectations that are taught and modeled throughout the school year.

We have been using PAX, teaching behavior expectations consistently, and making the most of fun incentive programs like our “Petey Bucks program”, to make a positive impact on student behavior. However, we are missing something important… your feedback.

*The focus for March is “hardworking".

Ms. Large’s class is also the winner for the PTA Membership Drive. They received a donut party.
