First Wizard Volunteer Opportunity!
First Wizard Volunteer opportunity! Next Saturday, August 27, from 8:30-10:30am, you can come help to beautify Windsor Middle School! Bring your gloves, a hat, and some sunscreen, as we clean up trash and pull weeds around the campus, and clean rocks out of the football field so recess is clear! Remember, volunteer hours are required in order to receive your WAND, and to qualify for Honor Society. Start getting your volunteer hours in now!
Hat's Off Staff Awards
Our "Hat's Off" Staff Award was so well-received last year that we would like to carry it on into the 2022-23 school year!
We would like to offer you an opportunity to recognize your teachers when they do great things. Towards that end, we are implementing the Hats-Off For a Teacher Award for our teacher/mentors who have done magical things for our students and community.
If you would like to recognize a WMS teacher as doing something worthy of being noted, please take the time to fill out this short form: https://forms.gle/9HJfpLHf5HeMDS3Y9. Teachers who receive a "Hat’s Off" will be receiving a Wizard Hat pin, and a copy of the nomination you filled out. They will also be eligible for a monthly reward, determined by review of the nomination submissions.
We know our teachers work very hard for our kids and community. Let’s take some time to give back to them!

IDs Now Required for School Visitors
In an effort to increase the safety and security of our schools, we have implemented a new screening system this school year for visitors and volunteers, utilizing Raptor Technologies. All non-staff members wishing to access the school building will need to provide a state / government-issued ID at check in, starting August 9.
Visitors
Visitors typically do not work with students unsupervised and are not engaging with regular and ongoing volunteer activities. Utilizing a state or government issued ID, all visitors will be screened against the registered sex offender database.
Volunteers
Volunteers are involved on a more regular and ongoing basis and may be alone with students. All volunteers must complete an application and background check that includes a search of the national criminal database, sex offender list, and terrorist watchlist. Once an account has been created and the application has been approved, you will be able to login and review volunteer opportunities at your selected schools. Apply Now (English|Spanish)
All visitors and volunteers must sign in and out at the front office, and an approved badge will be provided for you to wear during your school visit.
Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we implement this new system. For questions, please contact Mental Health & Safety Coordinator Ahmad Sedaghat.
