Change to the Start of the School Year

WE are Preparing for the Safe Return to School

As a result of feedback from the work groups, permission from our school board, and to ensure a safer and smoother beginning of the school year, Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Menzer announced a change in the school calendar. This decision DOES NOT change the previous announcement to allow Pk-8 families to select remote or face to face learning and the decision to go remote at William Penn to start the school year.

THE NEW 1st day for students will be September 8, 2020

While the new first day is September 8, 2020, not all students will begin at the same time. Whether in the remote learning model or in the face to face model, a staggered start will be implemented. Please see the schedule below to determine when your student will officially begin school.

Students with the last name beginning with A to L

If your last name does not begin with A to L,

your student will stay home on these days!

9/8/20-1st Day

9/9/20-2nd Day

Students with the last name beginning with M to Z

If your last name does not begin with M to Z,

your student will stay home on these days!

(Both Remote Learning and Face to Face Learning)

Remote vs Face to Face Instruction

Thank you so very much for completing the survey and answering our phone calls! At this point we have been able to get in touch with 90% of our families!

Very soon, the district will be reaching back out to ask you to confirm your choice.

You are also able to contact me directly at if you have had a change of heart since making your original choice. We are looking to have these decisions locked in before the start of the school year so that we can finalize our class lists and teacher assignments, so the sooner you reach out, the better!

Registration is still happening...AND NOW YOU CAN DO IT ONLINE!

Yearbook Update

We have still not yet received the yearbooks that were purchased last school year. :-(

We are so very sorry for this major inconvenience!
