Looking Ahead
I hope to be attending a seminar at the Hospice of the Western Reserve in March on Child and Adolescent Grief. I look forward to bringing back some great resources to help children through their grief. I will also be focusing my classroom guidance lessons on friendship for the month of March.
I would also like to start introducing some fun board games into my individual counseling with students. Please feel free to contact me if you'd like me to meet with you son or daughter.
National School Counseling Week
National School Counseling Week was held from February 3rd - February 7th. I wanted to stress the importance of having school counselors in each building helping students with a variety of issues. For many of us, life moves so fast that focus is elusive. It seems like the only constant is change. Sometimes it's best to step back, take a deep breath, and look at the big picture of what's ahead. It takes determination, persistence, and motivation just to make it through the day, BUT YOU CAN DO IT!!! Albert Einstein, the famous scientist, said, "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them." When you need someone who will listen and help you take that deep breath, remember that the school counselor is always here for you.
