short & long term effects
Short term effects include shortness of breath, lung and respiratory problems, odorous clothes, bad breath, and yellow teeth. Some long term effects are mouth, throat, lung, stomach, or kidney cancer, emphysema, a significantly reduced life span, and increased signs of depression among adolescents (yes, INCREASED).
Teens Using Tobacco
Most teens begin using tobacco products because they think it is cool, can help them lose weight, is normal, or can help them cope with stress.
Just Say NO!
In order to avoid tobacco products, teens can surround themselves with good influences, prepare refusal skills, avoid places that they know tobacco is available, and educate themselves on the dangers of tobacco use.
Don't Be Rude-- Put It Out!
Not only are smokers harming themselves, but the smoke in the air can harm those around them. It has been reported that second hand smoke can cause cancer and respiratory and lung infection. And smokers are at fault for this!
