This Week
Please continue to work with your class on expectations, not only in the classroom, but school wide. Reminders about walking in the hallways and appropriate voice levels in common areas are a couple of things that stick out as needed. Recess expectations are also something that need reviewed. There were multiple issues last week that could be avoided with extra attention to school wide expectations. Please take time this week to teach expectations and practice with your class. We will begin WIN next Monday 1/23/23. This gives ample time to work on really setting the tone for the second semester. I, unfortunately tested positive for Covid on Monday, and will be out this week. Ben, Dallas and Peter will be covering as TIC. I cannot believe I have it for the 4th time, but it is true! I am sorry to be absent from the building, but please know I will be checking email and texts. Please communicate with me if you need and I will respond.
2/3/4 Data Meeting Re-Scheduled
The 2/3/4 data meeting will be held on Thursday afternoon from 1:00pm - 3:30pm. Subs will be provided.

i-Ready Winter Diagnostic
Winter Window - January 9th - January 20th, 2023
All students in grades K-6 who are receiving instruction through the i-Ready Classroom Mathematics program need to complete the Winter i-Ready Diagnostic. The Diagnostic need to be completed by the end of the day on Friday, January 20th. Please make sure students do not begin the diagnostic until you are ready for them to do so. Also, encourage students to do their best and monitor completion status along the way. Teaching and Learning will not reset a Diagnostic do to rushing.
Students will not be able to access their "My Path," until the Diagnostic has been completed. The Learning Games will be available for students during the school day if they have not yet completed their Diagnostic. Students will have access to Learning Games and Interactive Practice after the school day during the Diagnostic window.
Learning Walk Host School - Thursday, January 26th
On Thursday, January 26th Rogers Park will be a Host School for the second round of Learning Walks with Ashlock Consultants. The purpose of the visits is to support principals and instructional coaches with the refinement of instructional practices regarding WIN interventions.
To stay focused on our board reading goal, the focus of instruction will be the WIN interventions: Phonics for Reading, K/1 STAR Binder Lessons, and SIPPS. The instructional coach and the Ashlock Consultant will each model a WIN lesson in a different K-5 classroom. The team will observe both of the modeled lessons with debriefing and dialog occurring before and after with the coaches, principals and consultant. Two demonstration classrooms will need to be available for the modeling of these lessons during the visit. Please reach out to me if you are interested in being one of the two demonstration classrooms.
