AP Exam Update!
We have received important updates from College Board on AP Exam dates and format.
- Exams will be given May from May 11 – 22, with. Make up days offered June 1-5. View the full testing schedule.
- Students will be able to take exams on any device they have access to—computer, tablet, or smartphone. They’ll be able to type and upload their responses or write responses by hand and submit a photo via their cell phones.
- For most subjects, the exams will be 45 minutes long, plus an additional 5 minutes for uploading. Students will need to access the online testing system 30 minutes early to get set up.
- For more information visit: https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/about-ap/news-changes/coronavirus-update
Per Pasco County’s Student Progression Plan, all AP students will be expected to sit for exam that corresponds to the AP course they are enrolled in therefore schools should not withdraw students from the AP ordering platform. If you need assistance with accessing a device or internet, please visit you school’s website where you will find a place to submit your questions and/or requests. Additionally, due to the situation we are in and the change in the testing format, these exams cannot be used as a course grade upon receiving scores. Please contact Kristin Ingold with any questions.

BEHAVIOR SECTION
What to do when a student works ahead in your course:
Here is some great wording, courtesy of Ms. Witman, that you can post as an announcement on your Canvas page:
Please know that if you choose to work ahead in the course (beyond the assigned work for that current week), your work may not be graded within the 48 hours time frame. We will be grading the current week's assignments first and then moving onto the advance submissions if time is permits.
Please know that discussion questions will only be answered for the current week's assignment. So if you have a questions about an assignment in Week 2, but we are only in Week 1, it will not be addressed until Week 2.
Also, please remember to check your work and submit all work before moving onto the next assignment. If an assignment is skipped and you do not complete it, it will be entered as a zero if you move forward and submit other assignments.
Discipline, Truancy & Plagiarism during Distance Learning
STUDENTS WHO HAVE A DISCIPLINARY INFRACTION:
Step 1: The teacher should contact the student's parent via phone contact and/or email. See the quick reference contact list in the next section below.
If there is still no change in students behavior after you have successfully reached the parent/guardian, or if the student commits another behavioral infraction, then:
Step 2: Submit a Mach Form to
Darrell Davis: High School Form
Joann Ortiz: Middle School Form
*Darrell & Joann will conference with the parent/guardian & student on this offense and warn of a discipline referral on next offense.
If a 3rd offense or more occurs, continue to submit the machforms above and Darrell/Joann will complete referrals for students and grade level AP's will handle those referrals at that time.
STUDENTS WHO PLAGIARIZE:
Step 1: The teacher should contact the student's parent via phone contact and/or email, and permit the student to redo the assignment for full credit. See the quick reference contact list in the next section below.
If the student plagiarizes another assignment, then:
Step 2: Submit a Mach Form to
Darrell Davis: High School Form
Joann Ortiz: Middle School Form
*Darrell & Joann will conference with the parent/guardian & student on this offense and warn of a discipline referral on next offense.
If a 3rd offense or more occurs, continue to submit the machforms above and Darrell/Joann will complete referrals for students and grade level AP's will handle those referrals at that time.
STUDENTS NOT LOGGING INTO YOUR CLASS DURING PREVIOUS WEEK:
Step 1: The teacher should contact the student's parent via phone contact and/or email. See the quick reference contact list in the next section below.
If there is still no student activity 48 hours after parent contact, then
Step 2: Submit a Mach Form to
Darrell Davis: High School Form
Joann Ortiz: Middle School Form
*Darrell & Joann will conference with the parent/guardian & student, and will refer to administration.

Tips for what to do without a printer
Included below are ideas, tips and tools to support students who have assignments to submit, but no printer. Flexibility should be offered to students in manner/format of work submission. It is the evidence of learning that is important, not the exact template or graphic.
There are several options to work without printing:
- Using the Canvas App to Annotate Documents
- Users can also select from any number of apps and programs for this purpose, including:
- Adobe Acrobat DC
- PDF Candy
- Students can take a screenshot and use markup and paint programs to edit on screen.
- Students can write responses on a piece of paper at home, take a picture and submit
- Instructions for annotating in Canvas are included in the course help files for students
