Weekly Recap
Hopefully this message finds you in good spirits. Last week was one of learning, recognitions, and celebrations. On Monday, we inducted our inaugural group of scholars in the Lake Ridge Elementary Chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society under the leadership of our Counselor and Sponsor, Mrs. Johnson. Induction is available to current 4th and 5th grade scholars who meet the criteria for academics and behavior/citizenship. The excitement continued on with our Spring Concert. The event, planned and directed by Ms. Peterbark, was phenomenal. On below, you will find videos of all of the performances. We also celebrated School Principals' Day. It was a blessing to receive so many words of affirmation, hugs, and gifts from those who wanted to show their appreciation. All was well-received. The week ended with our House meetings that allowed us to come together as a campus and celebrate scholars and faculty.
Kudos to Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 5th grade for meeting the 98% attendance goal for last week. We look forward to them keeping it up, and other grade levels meeting the goal as well. Parents, please ensure that your children are at school and on time daily so that they can receive valuable instruction, continue to build positive relationships, and help our campus secure necessary funding (attendance=funding for schools).
Here are some events to highlight for the upcoming school week:
- Teacher Appreciation Week/Nurse Appreciation Week. See the flyer included below for ways to celebrate your child's teachers and say "Thank You".
- Read-a-Thon. Every scholar is encouraged to read 15-20 minutes each night, and we encourage families to share the link included with family and friends so that they can donate towards reading efforts. https://www.read-a-thon.com/school/Lake-Ridge-Elementary_22025
- Muffins with Moms (May 10, 2019). Moms should RSVP by Wednesday, May 8 using the included link. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfOM1bVPDPldKpynAQpAS2n3cGh0lsKsYP9eJynRl6vok89Kg/viewform?usp=sf_link

Attendance Reminders
