WE'RE BACK!!
Webster Schroeder Ski and Snowboard Club is looking forward to returning to Bristol Mountain this winter. If you have never skied or snowboarded before, this is an excellent way to learn at a discount with friends and advisors nearby. Lessons are available for all levels of skiers and snowboarders at a low cost.
If you see the language "gateway card" throughout this year's information, that refers to the fact that Snowsports passes are now RFID enabled for use with Axess Gates at the lifts. This eliminates the need for manual ticket scanning and should speed up boarding.
INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS
Wednesday, October 6 during lunches: Get information in person from Mrs. Strege during the activities fair (cafeteria).
Thursday, October 14, 6 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.: This parent meeting is virtual via Google Meet and requires prior registration. Please email jennifer_strege@webstercsd.org to be included.

SAFETY
COVID SAFETY
On the bus, all students must remain masked regardless of vaccination status.
Bristol's Policy states that:
- Unvaccinated Guests must wear a mask indoors unless seated and eating. Unvaccinated guests must wear a mask outdoors unless socially distanced.
- Vaccinated Guests should consider wearing a mask indoors unless seated and eating.
SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS
WSHS will comply with Bristol Mountain Definitions and Regulations as outlined by the NYS Safety in Skiing Code, Article 18 of the NYS General Obligations Law. The Safety in Skiing Code requires you to seek out, read, and understand the “Warning to Skiers” before you decide to participate in the sports of skiing and snowboarding. The Warning is posted at the guest services office at Bristol Mountain.
HELMET USE
Webster Central School District strongly recommends the use of appropriate protective equipment for school sponsored activities, and believes that skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels and ages should wear helmets. Parents are asked to counsel their children that wearing a helmet does not give permission to ski or snowboard faster or recklessly.
STUDENT INJURY
Students restricted from PE or sports teams due to injury may not participate in Ski & Snowboard club until such restriction is cleared.
As emerging research directs greater care in the management of concussions, New York State Public High School Athletic Association Section V has established more stringent guidelines for concussion management for athletes. These guidelines are endorsed by the Monroe County School Physicians Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
- Students sustaining a concussion must be referred to the school nurse for assessment and action.
- Students sustaining a concussion must be symptom free for 24 hours AND for 7 days with progressive activity (exertion) in order to return to full activity.
The ski club advisor should be immediately informed of any injuries or incidents occurring at the mountain. Chaperones are stationed in the Rocket Lodge. Mrs. Strege can be reached by cell phone through Guest Services should she be in the midst of responding to another incident.
STORING AND SECURING EQUIPMENT
We encourage students to lock up equipment and register skis and snowboards with the New York State Police. Registration cards are available at the Bristol Mountain Guest Services office.
Ski equipment should not be transported on school buses. On ski club days, club members may drop off equipment for storage in the dining room across from the gymnasium. Ski club is not responsible for lost or stolen equipment. This includes items left on the bus.
Drop-off procedures: Equipment drop off at the south doors of the school can be best accommodated between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Thursday mornings. Please follow the directions of security personnel directing traffic and pull up past the entrance of the school. This ensures safe passage for pedestrians and aids the flow of the traffic, which is heavier on club Thursdays. Handicapped parking spots in the first row may be used for idling vehicles during drop off.
Equipment Storage: Equipment may be stored in the faculty dining room across from the gymnasium. The doors will be closed and locked at 8:45 a.m. and will reopen at 3:10 p.m.
