The final day of the 2021-22 school year is Friday, May 27th. This will be a HALF-DAY of school with a NOON DISMISSAL time. Please be sure to arrange supervision for your students the afternoon of May 27th!
Last Day of School Update:
In the morning, we will have an all school assembly to celebrate the year’s achievements. After the assembly, the students will sign yearbooks as an entire school on the playground. The 6th grade class will celebrate their accomplishments as a class during the lunch hour in the gym. Finally, the entire school will create a tunnel walk for our 6th grade students as they exit the building at noon. It will be a great day filled with fun and memories for all.
Celebrating our graduating 6th graders!
Attention 6th grade parents! We have a lot of fun festivities on the last day of school to celebrate this amazing group of kids.
- There will be a 6th grade breakfast in the morning on the last day of school (Friday, May 27th), to include donuts and fruit, at the Baker family home - 1307 S. 83rd St. from 7:45 a.m. until time to walk to school.
- Parents of 6th graders are also invited to join a 6th grade celebration in the cafeteria from 11:20 a.m.-noon on the last day of school. This celebration will include a slideshow and certificates from Ms. Cramer & Mr. Campbell.
- The "clap-out" for our 6th graders will occur on the playground following noon dismissal.
- After the "clap-out," the 6th graders will board a bus for their 6th grade party at Dave & Busters. The 6th graders will return to Loveland on the bus for parent pick-up at Loveland at 2:45 p.m.
- The party (along with 6th grade t-shirts to be provided this week!) are all generously paid for by the Community Club so there is no cost to families.
- If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Helvey at sarahandjayhelvey@hotmail.com or 402-850-6885.

Summer Learning Opportunities
Throughout the school year, as part of Westside’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process, students are assessed in reading and provided with strong instruction to support their needs. To engage families and extend the learning for students, we are sharing ways in which you can support your child with their reading. As we enter into summer, it is important to encourage practice in the area of reading so that students maintain the skills they learned this year.
This link: https://tinyurl.com/ue2tbc6v outlines opportunities to continue learning with and without technology. Included are links to various activities you can do with your child, as well as reading programs available in the community and some website/app recommendations. The top priority this summer is simply having your child read every day. This can include times when someone reads to or with them.
