We like to post those acceptances on a bulletin board outside the counseling office because we are proud of your accomplishments.

1st Years
First years finished their Farm to Table project this week with formal presentations on Thursday to business leaders in our community and with Robot Wars on Friday in Engineering.
Next week, learners will get new new teams and cohorts and begin the League of Their Own project where ultimately in January, they will display their custom-built trebuchets at Clark Stadium on Saturday, January 16.
In Physics with Mr. Hardy learners are beginning projectile motion. In Math with Mr. Stone, they are continuing their work with Systems of Linear equations. In Art with Mr. McCoy, learners began brainstorming designs for catapults and in World Geography with Ms. Stephens, learners discussed potential solutions for regional water shortages by considering societal, economic and environmental impacts. In English with Ms. Wright, learners are continuing their work on their persuasive essay.
2nd Years
We are all very excited for the Second Year learners to share and present the culmination of their research at our Second Annual Titan Thinker Symposium, November 13th from 5:30 - 7:30. Join us and prepare yourselves to be wowed the efficacy of the learners research and hard work.
3rd Years
Loan, marketing, and window production meetings made for a long and tiring week. Heard from one third-year learner, "Man, it feels like Friday!" That learner was crushed to find out that it was only Tuesday and it wasn't even lunch yet. After a "restful" Halloween, learners sat down to put into action the feedback they had received during their meetings. Each and every team did end up being offered a loan and all teams seemed to really appreciate and grow their marketing and design plans. The professional bankers and marketers in the building really enjoyed their time here and the opportunity to meet with impressive Academy learners. Many will be joining us again on November 29th from 5:30-7:30 for the K'Ching presentation.
With the loans behind us, production is now in full swing. The grade level is running a modified schedule in order to provide teams with the most access possible to productions areas and materials.
On a final note, we would all like to congratulate Aviv Peleg and Erin Battenfield for being named Prince and Princess on the Homecoming Court for 2018.
4th Years
This week 4th-year learners began work on their next project, “It’s Alive.” During this project, the learners will be challenged to zoom out from basic problem solving and attempt to answer the questions: “What does it mean to be alive, and how is the meaning of life changing as the world evolves?”
In SRD this week, learners submitted the draft to their Materials List. Learners also identified the participants and data collection tools needed for upcoming Implementation Phase. To provide ongoing support for Project It’s Alive, SRD classes also integrated learning around technologies that enhance or benefit life.
In PreCalculus learners began their unit on trigonometry and Calculus learned the technique of implicit differentiation.
In Government, learners started their study of the Constitutional Convention. Through an examination of the compromises that shaped our Constitution, learners will start to see how government affects what it means to be an American.
