Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run® is an after school program for girls in 3rd - 5th grade that motivates girls to stay true to themselves and live free from societal stereotypes. Our mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. The 10 week program incorporates training for a 5k event with lessons that encourage girls to make healthy lifestyle choices. Trained volunteer coaches deliver workouts that educate girls about the importance of their well being, encourage them to develop a positive self-image, respect others and cooperate in a group, build supportive personal goals and improve physical fitness. All fitness levels are welcome!

Spring session dates: February 22 – May 5, 2016

Days/times: Tues/Fri 7:15am - 8:30am

Online registration: Opens January 18.

REMINDER-Arrival Procedures

  • Student drop off time is 8:20 a.m. each morning. Please DO NOT drop students off prior to that time as they will be unsupervised.
  • Additionally, please remember that the car lane and parking in a designated parking spot are your two options for dropping off your student in the morning.
  • Parents are not allowed to use the BUS LANE for drop off in the morning. The bus lane begins just to the left of the SHERWOOD letters and continues to the Boys and Girls Club entrance. If parents are parking in the bus lane, it prevents the safe and timely drop of a large group of our Sherwood students.
  • All students being dropped off by parents in the morning should be entering the building via the main entrance, not the Boys and Girls Club entrance. That entrance in designated for bus riders and Boys and Girls Club students only.

Thank you for your prompt attention to these procedures and for ensuring safety for ALL Sherwood students.
