Attendance Reminder

If your child is going to be absent from class due to any reason (sick, out of town, doctor appointment, etc) please call the attendance line so your child can be marked accordingly. While in distance learning, attendance needs to be handled the same as if they were in person. Also, if your child or anyone in close contact with your child tests positive for COVID-19, please report that to the school even though we remain in distance learning.

Free Dental Care

Because every child’s smile should be the picture of health, dentists and dental professionals volunteer in select clinics throughout the state to provide free care to low-income children in need. This special program, called Give Kids a Smile, is available on the first Friday and Saturday of February. Parents can find local participating clinics by visiting or by calling United Way 2-1-1 or 1-800-543-7709. See the flyer for more information.

Help is Available

The Family School Coordinator program is a service made possible by the Northwest Hennepin Family Service Collaborative in partnership with Prairie Care, a psychiatric group that provides mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults across Minnesota.

Family School Coordinators can offer the following to students in need:

lack of motivation, attendance, or work completion

2. Work closely with teachers and other school staff to support and improve functioning in

3. Team with the student, family members, and school staff to address mental health

4. Assist families in navigating through the array of school and community support

5. Offer referrals to other, more intensive services if/when needed

Please reach out to your school social worker or counselor if you are interested in this service for your student. To determine if your student is a good fit for the program, you can also reach me at
