Recap of Last Semester
What's going on?
7th Grade Author Virtual Visit
#fuelthepositive Assembly
On our first day back, we took a moment to welcome everyone back, celebrate the first semester, and reboot our pillars. The assembly started with the celebration of all our #fuelthepositive award winners. We had over 60 first semester. We also celebrated our Falcons of the Month and Staff Members of the Month (we have had two of each up to this point). We then had a class/teacher competition...this time the teachers won. Tammy Mudd then put herself out there and talked about changing the channel and introduced Brian Mudd's talk on the living in a positive space. Students then were given an opportunity to reflect on both of their words and commit to one word that they will use to redirect them. We made a Wordle out of it and will be posting it around our building as a reminder of how we can redirect ourselves and be positive. Finally, our 8th-grade Digital Media class decorated our halls with our pillars and 8th grade's Falcon Four. It was a great way to start off the semester!

Coffee Talk
- Recap of last semester
- Assembly from Monday
- Upcoming plans for our building in terms of curriculum and student opportunities
- We went on a tour of our building
- Talked about ideas for future programing, the formation of a Parent Teacher Organization, and opportunities for parents to be a part of the middle school culture.
One thing that was suggested was that maybe we have 2 coffee talks during the school day and two dessert nights so that those that want to be involved but work can be involved. Great idea! So our 4th quarter dessert night will be in the evening. Date to be announced!
Thank you for everything you do for our building and especially our students!

Get Involved!
Needs:
- Please watch for a sign-up genius to help with our 8th-grade PBL showcase.
- I would love to develop a Middle School PTO if anyone is interested in helping me get that started. Please contact me.
- Do you have old technology you would like to get rid of? We have students that would like to take it apart! Seriously, if you have old tech that students can tear apart and explore, we are in the market. Please send it in and have the students take it to Mrs. Ford's room.
- We also are trying to collect $5-$10 gift cards for student incentives. Please send these to Jill Wilkinson in the middle school main office.
- I am looking for some ideas for the Staff Member of the Month initiative.
- We need consumables like markers, glitter, glue, poster board, paper for our Cricut Machines, vinyl for the Cricut Machines, fabric for sewing, thread, buttons, etc. I could go on and on. Mrs. Ford would probably take anything you offered.
Thank you all for being so supportive. We appreciate your desire to be a part of the middle school experience. We need you!
