Welcome Back Miss Garmon
Please stop in the library to welcome Miss Garmon. She is excited to be back, and ready to assist with all your library needs.
Help!
Coming back to school is so exciting! We love sharing all our great summer reads with each other. We are looking forward to a fabulous year, working even harder to inspire lifelong readers, and we need your help!
Open House (Oct 1st)
Please consider decorating your classroom door with pictures of all the books (websites, blogs, newspapers/magazines) you have read over the summer. This would be a great way to show parents that everyone reads.
Reading Posters Outside Your Room
Another way to inspire students, and engage them in book conversations, is to let them know what your reading interests are. You have probably noticed the two posters outside the library showing the books we are currently reading, and the books we just finished. These posters have inspired numerous reading conversations. Students look up to us, and your poster may be the inspiration a student needs to check out that book! Reading posters can be made inexpensively from construction or scrapbooking paper.

September 25th -29th
Stop in and check out a banned book to celebrate.
Scholastic Book Fair
Dates for our book fair will be September 29th - October 3rd, with late hours during open house night. The Scholastic link will be on our website two weeks before. Be sure to check it out.
Faculty Book Club
Great friendships often begin with a book discussion!
We will be hosting our bi-monthly book club again this year. This is a great opportunity to connect with other teachers and staff that we may not be able to cross paths with during our busy day. The gatherings are always on a Friday directly after school. The books are chosen from a jar of titles suggested by the club members. If you would like to participate or just be included in updates, please let us know so we can add you to the list.
