What is visual merchandising?
Visual Merchandising refers to the coordination of all the physical elements in a place of business that are used to project the right image to its customers
What does it do?
Successful businesses create distinct, clear, and consistent images for their customers. A good image sets a business apart from their competition

Windows Displays
Display windows are especially useful for visual merchandising. Displays placed in these windows can begin the selling process even before the potential customer enters the store. There are two basic kinds of window displays: promotional displays and institutional displays

The store sign offers the first impression then therefore should make a statement about the business
Marquee
a marquee is an architectural canopy that extends over a store's entrance. Older stores and some specialty stores use marquees to display the store name
