Home and School Connection - May Summer Edition

Celebrating Our Learners!



We would like our kinder friends to continue working in Dreambox, reading everyday, and our online reading program. Most of all we want you to enjoy your summer break and have fun!! We can’t wait to see everyone again next year!!

First Grade

First grade teachers would like students to continue reading and working on Dreambox this summer!

Second Grade

Parents, please see below for information to access leveled texts for your students through Benchmark Education. Consider saving this access information for your continued use across the summer for some of your child's reading. We predict these passwords will be effective through July 31, 2020. Also, be on the lookout from your child's teacher with some optional math practice you may want to complete.

Third Grade

Summer Activities:

Mooney's Message

Dear Roadrunner Family,

We wish you the very best as you begin your summer. This newsletter is full of resources to support all our learners whether strengthening skills or challenging existing ones. Thank you to the teachers for spending time creating and sharing information for our Roadrunners. Thank you parents for also spending time this past 9 weeks supporting our students. Hooray to the partnership, we are thankful. Take care and be on the look out for school updates from CCISD and Ross elementary the closer we get to August 2020. HUGS!

Keeping you informed: The district has reenacted the Safety Committee to research ways to safely restart school in the fall. The advisory committee consists of CCISD leaders, parents, community, members and health organizations. They are meeting now till mid June to converse about what school will look like for our students, staff and community. Below are the dates they will hold meetings for you to listen to the draft recommendations, give feedback and ask questions.

  • Proof of Residency Documents can be brought in beginning August 10. Utility bill (Electric, Gas, or Water bill). Residency Affidavits will be available for print after August.

PreK & Kindergarten Registration

Online registration for Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten is open. A child must be 4 years old by September 1, 2020 for Pre-K 4, and 5 years old by September 1, 2020 for Kindergarten.

Ross Elementary will be offering 2 full day Pre-K 4 classes for the 2020/2021 school year. We will not have Pre-K for 3 year old children at our campus.

Parents / Guardians are asked to go to the Clear Creek ISD website (, click on the Enrollment tab and then click on Pre-K & Kindergarten Enrollment. Once you have submitted your online application, you will be contacted by our office staff to complete the enrollment process.

Returning Ross Library and Ross Literacy Library Books

Thank you all for your support in returning Ross Library books and Ross Literacy Library books.

If you have not yet been able to do so, a tub will be available at the front doors of the school both Thursday and Friday (May 28 & 29).

Ross Library books will have a bar code. Ross Literacy Library books will have a stamp on the inside front cover that says Ross Literacy Library.

*Please put items in a plastic bag with student's name and teacher name.

Galveston county updates their website with new cases etc at 12pm daily and Harris County does so at 3pm.
