What Is Panther Pride Night?
Panther Pride Night is an event open to all families with students in grades PreK – 4th.
Please join us to learn more about the literacy activities your child participates in at school! Also, explore fun activities you can do at home along with learning more about community resources.

Schedule of Events
5:00-5:35 – Registration/Community Resources - CES Gym
Please allow yourself enough time to register so we can begin the first session at 5:35.
5:35-5:45- Opening in Gym
5:45-6:05- 1st Round of Literacy Sessions. (See backside for session choices)
Please attend the appropriate grade level session and stay for the entire 20 minutes.
6:05-6:10 – Break - Move to different locations to attend the 2nd session.
6:10-6:30- 2nd Round of Literacy Sessions. (See backside for session choices)
6:30-7:00- Free meal in cafeteria Meal provided by USD 333. The Panther mascot will be available during this time. The following community resources will be located in the gym: Child Passenger Safety, Cloud County Health Department, Cloud County Resource Center, Frank Carlson Library, Funk’s Pharmacy, Kansas Library Connection/eCard, M.O.P.S. (Mothers of Preschoolers), Neighbor 2 Neighbor, P.A.T. (Parents As Teachers), Wednesday Supper
1st Round of Literacy Sessions -CHOOSE ONE SESSION
Kindergarten- (Room 104/105) - Learn about activities to practice with your child at home using your child’s homework bag and other materials that you can find at home.
1st Grade- (Room 501/504) - Learn how to take an Accelerated Reader test! Books will be available. The test will measure your comprehension level. Students in Mrs. Thompson’s and Mrs. Popelka’s class please go to room 501. Students in Mrs. Sonia Erkenbrack’s, Mrs. Emily Erkenbrack’s and Mrs.Peltier’s class please go to room 504.
2nd Grade- (Room 204) - Pathways to Reading (PTR) Vowel Town- Come and learn about vowel town and a strategy to help your child decode unknown words. Test your phonics skills and play a phonics game after the presentation.
2nd Grade-(Room 205)- Math Fact Strategies- Come and learn about triangle flash cards, touchpoints and Reflex Math.
3rd Grade- (Room 306) – Make math and vocabulary fun! Have fun with your child while practicing math facts and vocabulary. Join us for some enriched activities. Play tic-tac-toe, charades, hangman and matching games using third grade vocabulary words and math facts.
4th Grade- (Room 402)- Reading Rescue- In this session, we will discuss the importance of reading with your child at home, Accelerated Reading(AR), Lexile Levels-“dot colors”, and fun ways to incorporate reading into your daily routine.
**Pre K-4- (Front Lobby) – Stop by to sign up for a state library card and have access to free resources. You can stop by any time between 5:45 and 6:45.
2nd Round of Literacy Sessions
Book Swap- (Gym) - Bring a book from home to exchange for a “new to you” book! (Come and Go Session)
Reading is Glowing- (Library/Media Center & Tech Lab) - Join us to see how reading is “glowing”. Grab a favorite book, a glow stick and learn how reading can be exciting…..even in the dark!
Math Fun-(Room 403)- Test out your multiplication skills and learn how to practice math facts at home.
Wii Literacy-(Gym)- Exercise while you read during this fun activity! (Come and Go Session)
Art- (Art Room) – Create your own popsicle stick, book buddy.
FREE BOOKS!
Also, feel free to bring a gently used book that you are no longer reading to swap it out with a new book to take home!
