12 Tablets of Rome
The 12 tablets of Rome contributed to the U.S.A constitution. My mom being a defense attorney helps to protect those accused of breaking laws. In Ancient Rome the laws were put on 12 tablets in the middle of town so everyone could know them. Today the 12 tablets idea has contributed to the u.s codes of law.
Aqueducts Rome
In Ancient Rome the aqueducts brought water through canal like concrete structures from springs, wells, and distant lakes. Today modern plumbing with pipes bring water in and removing water and waste is almost the same as it was in Ancient Rome.
Spread of Christianity
Christianity was named official religion of the Roman Empire in 395 C.E. Today Christianity is still a major religion practiced by many.
Pottery Greek
In Ancient Greece pottery was created as a way to tell stories. Today although sometimes used to tell myths it is mostly have random designs used for decor and Beauty, not story telling.
Olympics Greek
The first olympics, created for Zeus were only a few sports foot races, jumping, javelin, and wrestling. Today there are modern olympics and regular competition for those who are good but not Olympic level. The modern Olympics occur every 4 years but really every 2 because there is 2 years In between each winter and summer olympics. Today the competition includes snowboarding, swimming, gymnastics, skiing, racing, and other sports like this.
Mythology Greek
The Greek gods like Zeus, Poseidon, and Hatis. Have been around for a long time originally created in Ancient Greece the people truly believed in them and worshipped them. Today although not worshipped, remembered and represented in new ways like the Percy Jackson book and movie franchise.
Roads Rome
In Ancient Rome there was 250,000 miles of concrete road. Today we use asphalt, it is used for roads and driveways.
Greek Alaphabet
The Greeek Alaphabet is used for the same reasons it was used for Ancient Greece. It was used to help form and speak words while also writing them giving physical form. Today it is the root to many English words.
