Principal Update
Hi Reptile Families,
It's hard to believe we are one week from the end of Quarter 1. I am so appreciative of all the support from all our families in helping to keep our campus safe. It takes all of us working together to make that happen.
The school hours are 9:40-4:08. Arrival begins at 9:20 and a student is marked absent if they arrive after 9:40. Please help your child to arrive to school or log into their zoom on time. Every minute in your child's day is very important.
Report cards will be available to parents on the Parent Portal! Please make sure you have access to your child’s report card. If you need assistance, please feel free to call the front office.
The end of October has a few fun events. Please join us on October 27th for our first McDonald's Drive Thru family night. October 26th-30th is Red Ribbon week. See below for the dress up choices for each day. On October 30th, your child may dress up as a good character.
Thank you for your continued support,
Colleen Wilkinson
Principal
McDonald's Drive Thru Spirit Night- October 27th
Join us from 5-7pm on October 27th for a drive up Spirit Night at McDonald's.
Here’s how it works:
1. Use the McDonald's app to place your order.
2. Pull up to the tent in our McDonald’s parking lot designated for our school Spirit Night curbside pick-up orders. Make sure to share that you are with New River Elementary School!!
3. Check in where the team will verify an order has been made on the McDonald’s app and give your name and 4 digit code for the order.
4. Once checked in families will be directed to park in the designated Spirit Night Parking spots.
5. Teachers will help by running food to cars.
Can't wait to see you there!!

Calling all library books. If you have a library book floating around your house, please send it back into school.
All traditional classes have signed up and been visiting the media center as a cohort. We would love to offer our mySchool online students the opportunity to choose books from the media center. If you would like to have your child check out books, please bring your child on Tuesday mornings from 8:00-9:00am. They are able to enter the media center through the side door closest to the car loop. Please ensure your child is wearing a mask. We will do our best to limit the number of students inside. If we find that the we have too many students to accommodate safely, we may add an additional day.
Thank you!!!
