Martin Luther King Day at Nazareth
January 21, 2019 ~ A Day Long Series of Events
The Other America:"The Arc of the Moral Universe is Long, but it Bends Towards Justice.’” ~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Dear Members of the Nazareth Community,
This year, Nazareth's Celebration of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday will be centered around the theme: The Other America. This theme is the title of a speech delivered by King in April of 1968 at Stanford University. In this speech, Dr. King addresses race, poverty and economic justice. A full length text of the speech can be found via a link below. It is our hope that this speech will be incorporated in to classroom discussions throughout the first week of the semester.
